After 60 years, the Grace Church Trustees determined it was time for a complete overhaul of the kitchen, dining and laundry areas at the parsonage. Enlisting the help of congregational volunteers, a new design was settled upon. A team of retired men volunteered to build all new oak cabinets for the kitchen, starting in the fall of 2018. In September 2019, another set of volunteers ready to ‘do some damage’ took part in demolishing and clearing out all the old cabinets and a couple walls. They also ripped up flooring  and took down the ceiling to allow for new can lights, etc. An electrician and a plumber were hired to come in and take care of that business, before a drywall guy and some volunteers put up drywall . The next chore was painting and again, volunteers showed up to help with that task. Cabinet installation has begun and before we know it, it will be time floor new flooring and window treatments! Away behind the scenes, several families have provided meals or hosted Pastor Jonathan while he is without a kitchen. Thank you to all our volunteers who are helping to make this big project a reality.
